There have already been several reports about our sector coupling concept of district heating with the sewage treatment plant in the city of Gleisdorf. The Styrian ORF is also reporting on it under the current focus “Mother Earth”.

The concept was developed as part of the large-scale research association #ThermaFLEX led by AEE INTEC under the umbrella of Green Energy Lab in the showcase energy region and brought to implementation together with the partners Stadtwerke Gleisdorf, Feistritzwerke Gleisdorf and Abwasserverband Gleisdorfer Becken. Congratulations to the decision-makers Erich Rybar, Karl Hierzer and Peter Schiefer and their respective teams. Thanks to all my colleagues Christoph Brunner, Christian Fink, Ingo Leusbrock, Wolfgang Gruber-Glatzl, Bettina Muster-Slawitsch, Elena Guillen Burrieza, Christian Platzer, Jürgen Fluch, Morena Miliavaca Uriarte and many more for their ideas and conceptual design. Local support is provided by the municipalities of Gleisdorf and Hofstätten around the mayors Christoph Stark and Werner Höfler. This is a very impressive example of how local competence can work together in the Green Tech Valley of the Green Tech Cluster and precisely reflects AEE INTEC‘s claim of “Idea to Action”.

Due to the high level of innovation in climate-friendly heat supply, increased investment subsidies will be made available for the construction. Thanks for this to the Climate and Energy Fund around Theresia Vogel, Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH and the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation & Technology under the direction of  Leonore Gewessler.
