This year’s Biomass and Heating Plant Operators’ Day was held under the motto “Oil-free agriculture and forestry, electricity and heat transition!”

The programme also included the presentation of two demonstrators from the ThermaFLEX lead project by Joachim Kelz from AEE INTEC. The “Solaren Biowärme Gleisdorf” heating network was used to demonstrate how district heating can function as an energy hub. The example of the heating network of the city of Leibnitz demonstrated how flexibility in the district heating sector can be increased by combining innovative measures. Both heating networks clearly show how the integration of renewable energies and the decarbonisation of the heat supply can be successfully implemented.
