Salzburg AG für Energie, Verkehr und Telekommunikation is the competent partner in Salzburg for future-oriented solutions regarding supply and mobility. The activities of Salzburg AG include electricity, natural gas, district heating, water, public transport and telecommunications.
Salzburg AG is the most important heat producer and heat supplier in the province of Salzburg. In the field of thermal power plants, it operates a large generating park with a district heating network in the area Salzburg and Hallein (about 225 km of track length) as well as ten other regional heating grids (with a total of 65 km of track length) based on biomass or waste heat in Wald im Pinzgau, Bramberg, Bruck a. d. Glstr., Fusch a. d. Glstr., Saalfelden, Radstadt, Tenneck, Golling, Bergheim and Neumarkt am Wallersee. In total, around 16,500 customer systems are supplied with heat. The thermal bottleneck performance is approx. 450MW and the amount of heat sales in 2017 was around 820 GWh.
